Or Thursday, perhaps Friday depending when you’re reading this. Either way, this is what I am listening to this week. It’s all a bit upbeat and summery to get me through these depressing Winter nights……
The Blow // Parentheses
Such a cute little song. The Blow is the moniker of Brooklyn, New York-based musician Mikhaela Yvonne Maricich. A good combination of dainty electronic beats and naive female vocal. I like.
Matt and Kim // Daylight
We’re not seeing much daylight right now but with this quirky little tune I tend not to be too bothered. Matt & Kim are a dance punk duo residing in Brooklyn. They’re known for their DIY attitude and overly happy clappy tracks.
Her Space Holiday // Sleepy Tigers
My iTunes tells me this track is by xoxo Panda, but I’m not sure what’s going on with this band name to be honest, some sources tell me its an album some say le artiste? Either way, this is such a nice snuggly track.
Tilly and the Wall // Pot Kettle Black
Nebraska’s finest Tilly and the Wall, they were on one of the first episodes of this generations 90210, I’ve loved them way before that but this song rekindled that love!
They have a TAPDANCER instead of a dummer for christs sake! All their songs are so upbeat and folky.
I hope that’s put some people in a better mood and put the winter blues at bay.
If anyone has their own upbeat winter tune to add, comment below!
