Look Beauty - Lips!

The Look Beauty Website is a very dangerous place, mainly because you can use PayPal to pay which always appeals to me, it's so simple and saves the half hour long task of signed up for yet another account with all your card details! It's been a bit of a love/hate experience since I placed my order though for several reasons. The main one is that since I placed the order (which totalled £19.50 in the end when they added the postage on!) they reduced almost everything to half price!! So disgruntled as I initially only wanted one lipstick, but the offer of spend £15 and get a free 'Loud Lips' in 'Cherry Bomb' sucked me in and I ended up spending the small fortune. By the time I received my order and weighed up the pro's and con's of sending it back and how much the value of stuff was even on offer, I cut my loss of around £3 and kept the mini haul. Some products have been excellent, some have been awful. So I am going to do a few little blog posts on the stuff I bought starting with the HITS! My favourite things from my order were these two lipsticks.
The Loud Lips lipstick in Cherry Bomb is a vivid red colour, not quite like any other I own; granted I only own 2 red lipsticks. I always get scared of wearing red lipstick as I'm a messy pup at the best of times so scared of smudging it around my face!
The packaging for the lipstick is quite interesting. It's a lightweight metal case, but when you put the lid on, it doesn't click into place but has a magnet instead. This immediately makes me think it'll cause trouble if thrown in the bottom of my handbag! But it seems to stay in place OK.
The colour is AMAZING. It's super pigmented and glides on really well. It doesn't dry my lips out at all and is probably one of the creamiest formula's of lipstick I own. Now please don't judge my poor application skills in that image, I need a lip brush STAT. But you can fathom the colour can't you? It's wonderful. It also stains your lips quite well so even when it eventually rubs off you're still left with a lovely red hue.
The second lipstick (and the one I lusted after for so long, thus making the order online) is the Double Hit Lip in Berry Blast. I don't know why I was drawn to this lipstick so much! I have never tried nor owned a purple/lilac lippy but this colour is so amazing I had to have it. I have the Orange Punch Double Hit Lip from a goodie bag I received ages ago and the colour and formula are unexpectedly great, so I knew to expect the best from this one.
I don't think the picture does justice to the intensity of the colour that goes onto your lips, it's such a thick and creamy consistency and lasts a good 5 hours on me. It's such a great shade I really really REALLY like it!! It also, like the Loud Lips, is quite hydrating so doesn't dry out my naturally dry lips too much one again. Although the lipstick part of the Double Hit Lip says it's matt it really isn't that matt and still appears a little more shiny than a matt lipstick should BUT saying that I do prefer this finish anyway.
The gloss side of Double Hit Lip simply adds a glossy finish, like you'd expect but also 'fills' in the colour more so it's even more intense. Like I said, the picture really don't translate well enough the colour as it is truly amazing! This is also why I tend not to do swatches in my blog posts as I find they can be slightly misleading at times, but if you go into your local Superdrug then try it! You won't be disappointed.
Double Hit Lip retails for £8 but is currently on offer for £4 (yes I am still disgruntled about that, if my local Superdrug was kept better stocked I could have just bought it in store at any time and not had to buy it online and been tempted by the other things I bought too!) And the Loud Lips was free when I spent £15 but retails for £7 but is currently on offer for £4. I would recommend both of these products, but stay tuned for the ones I wouldn't. I'v used the word several times but I am completely DISGRUNTLED about them!
