Have You Bean Boozled?

Mmmm Jelly Belly Jelly Beans. That lovely little bean of goodness every one loves. Even though certain flavours give me a sore throat, I often succumb to their loveliness (and expense)  by treating myself to some now and again. Recently when perusing the aisles of Selfridges food department I spotted these keen beans begging for me to buy them.

Obviously the bit that stood out to me was the claim that these Bean Boozled Jelly Belly's contained 'weird and wild' flavours. Just how 'weird and wild' can a jelly bean be? Well, by reading the reverse of the packet not only are they weird and wild but they are incredibly GRIM flavours indeed! From Centipede to VOMIT (sorry Sharon, if you're reading this) the flavours of these are certainly tailored to make full use of your gag reflex.
The idea of the beans is that it's a bit of a Russian Roulette, the beans contain two flavours of the same colour. The one you chose will be either the lovely flavour or the grim one. You can't smell the flavours before you eat them either, believe me I've tried. It's just pot luck! But when you get a bad 'un, by GOD it's a B.A.D 'un!
It amazed me though how the gross flavours were so authentic. Even the Centipede, Dog Food and Baby Wipes varieties where you couldn't possibly imagine what they would taste like, actually taste exactly like the thing! Unfortunately though the authenticity of flavour is consistent and the Rotten Egg, Moldy Cheese and Vomit ones are not for the weak stomached! It's a pity I showed people the packet before I handed them out at work the other day, it would of been a lot more fun to let them try them then tell them the flavour. Silly me. Maybe next time. They retail for around £2.50! Enjoy!
