Can You Tell What It Is Yet?

Muji is one of my favourite shops to have a browse in, there’s always something a little bit different and a little bit awesome in there. Although sometimes the prices don’t justify the product and the fact that ‘Muji’ roughly translates to ‘no brand’ or ‘no label’ you are definitely paying for the Muji label! I often succumb to one thing or another including the amazing cat chocolate moulds I got a while ago. This time I spotted these rather intriguing looking shrink wrapped cubes, which contained T Shirts, Scarves and…. DRESSES.

This was definitely one of those things I simply had to buy, costing only £12.95 I thought I’d be a fool not to. And I’ve actually been after a striped vest jersey dress for a while anyway. The problem is though that you can’t try on before you buy and I had no idea what size to get! I went for Large in the end though as I did want a ‘slouchy’ fit and also Japanese/Asian brands are renowned for being ridiculously tiny!

As you can see, the dress is a really compact little cube. I chose the grey and black stripes, it came in black and white, plain grey and just plain white too. When you unwrap the cube you simply roll out the dress and it reveals, well, a dress! It’s a little crinkly but I imagine after a wash (I don’t do ironing) it’ll be smoother. Although I quite like the crinkles!
I’m actually really pleased with it, as it’s just what I was after! They should put these in Gashapon machines or something haha. The quality of the material is really nice too; a thick, high quality cotton. I’m going to do a follow up post ‘styling’ it, but I know already what it’s going to go great with – trusty burgundy Converse. I was definitely right about the sizing too, this is a large and I’m a size 8 on top and 10/12 on bottom and it fits me just right. So I can only imagine what the small one is like!? Maybe they were child’s sizes! But I don’t think they were. For £12.95 though I am very happen with it.
