A Touch of Edgy?

I don't know if it's because my style is becoming a little more refined or grown up lately, or if it's because I'm succumbing to trends nowadays, but I am totally besotted with anything pleather/leather right now. I've bagged a few bargains like a (p)leather skirt and leggings from Primark, but I seem to becoming more obsessed with incorporating more into my wardrobe on a daily basis. As I don't think I'm quite Rihanna enough to wear a full leather garment during the day, I've found some nice little pieces online to add a 'touch of leather' to my wardrobe.... (Why do I get the feeling adding the word 'leather' to my blog will attract some unsavoury google searches?!) Apart from the bag from ASOS.com, the below things are all on the New Look website. I particularly like the cut out style of the dress in the middle (which is now reduced to a tenner!!!) and think I may have to make a little purchase of that combined with the green cardigan. Purple and green is my favourite colour combination.

I suppose another compromise would be a leather coat or jacket BUT am I ready for that?! I see so many people in biker style leather jackets and weep inside that I can't quite pull them off with my rather eclectic but cutesy style... And then I discovered these little things called Shearling Coats?!! I've never even heard of them before but apparently that's what those ones with the lovely warm looking sheepskin linings are called (yes I didn't know that before haha). Having a look at these Womens Shearling Coats is certainly giving me garment envy as wrapping myself in sheepskin seems pretty appealing right now considering this crazy weather going down.

Are you a little like me and yet to embrace leather (or pleather) garments on a daily basis? Or are you already frolicking around in the full get up? Any tips on introducing it to your wardrobe slowly but surely to get me in with fashion?? I already get funny looks around Stoke for wearing my cutting edge bowler hat because it's too trendy. Oh Stoke, do catch up.

  5. I've been thinking about getting a leather skirt (real or faux I'm not sure) but as I only really wear skirts to work I'm not sure whether it would be suitable for work.

And I don't think leather trousers are really my thing.
