Magical Mystical Sunglasses

Ok, maybe not magical, or mystical, but they're pretty darn snazzy. The other week I was offered the chance to get my keen peepers around a pair of Raybans from Vision Direct, securing my status as a *real blogger* (you know you're not a real blogger unless you have a pair of Rayban's right? And an iPad, and some cheapo looking acrylic storage for your lipsticks). I knew I wanted to be the proud owner of some of the classic style of Wayfarer frame, the brown ones have been on my radar since the dinosaurs walked the earth I tell thee. I chose the Ray-Ban Wayfarer Folding Sunglasses unintentionally, as I got a little over zealous and didn't even read the description! That's just how excited I seem to get when someone casually dangles the carrot over something I've been lusting over for a while....

Now I know you're sitting there thinking 'Why is she even talking about Sunglasses at the time of the year anyway, pppfftttt, what a PR pleaser'. WELL, oh cynical ones, have YOU tried to drive at around 2.30-3pm when the sun suddenly appears and tries to burn your retina's out?? No? It is the WORST. The winter sun I always find to be much more sinister than sun in the summer. I mean, you expect  to see the sun in the summer for one... But in the winter, when it's overcast for a large chunk of the day, only for the sun to catch you unaware in a roaring blaze in the sky for about an hour, that's the worst. So having a pair of sunglasses to hand is a pretty great idea when you think about it, isn't it?

The great thing about me accidentally choosing the folding pair of Raybans is size of these things when you fold them up! They literally fit in the palm of your hand. The compact little carry case fits perfectly in the inside pocket of my bag, which is way more convenient than lugging around those super heavy sunglasses I'm used to (way to be dramatic, right?). But really, it's such a handy side that you can just leave them in there without taking up precious space for your 1000's of lip balms. Always a winner in my book. As you can see, the sunglasses fold up and down in several stages. You start by parting the lenses, then folding out the arms and voilá, ready for your face to get all that sunshine up in it! One thing I am always guilty of with sunglasses is scratching the lenses, I literally ruin them all within a week. Including a pair of £300 Dior aviators I have. But we won't talk about that one. With Raybans though, you can really tell that the quality of the lenses is second to none. They somehow make the contrast of everything more.... clear? I don't even know how to explain it. For ages a friend has been telling me how the lenses make everything clearer, but I couldn't get my head around it. Now I've tried them for myself though, they were right! It really is bizarre?! Even though I do wear contact lenses, the Rayban lenses make everything have an added crispness, but they don't strain your eyes. And thankfully, I have not managed to scratch them, yet.

Have you ever tried on a pair of Raybans?
Do it, it will change your life! (Or maybe just the visual crispness of your life)

  2. Folding Sunglasses, oh my gawd! Ray Bans are uber fancy, never tried the traditional Wayfarers, I don't know if I'm quite 'cool' enough haha.

Speaking of sunglasses I after having my driving lesson in the morning sunshine this morning was literally blinded. So annoying as I have none and my test is at a similar time next week....great. Needless to say I'm hoping for rain.

    1. Take some sunglasses just in case! At least then they will know you've thought of everything including visibility on your test :D

  3. I love the folding concept! Im prone to destroying posh sunglasses in my bag and i truly don't know how!

I keep a pair of huge bug eyed sunglasses i got free with a magazine in the car and when that horrid low winter sun appears I whack them on on top of my glasses!

Driving in winter sun is definitely worse than summer sun!

  4. Ah, Ray Bans.. I've always been scared to invest in expensive sunnies because I do the same thing (scratch the lenses almost immediately without fail) but I've tried on some of my friends' pairs before and they do have that amazing crystal clear quality that my 1.99 H&M ones, funnily enough, don't seem to offer..! xx

  5. My friend has a pair of raybans and i didn't notice any crispness, but they did just feel better on my face. Like I could feel the quality of them compared to my £2 primark ones. but then she sat on mine and I was glad they only cost £2
