Flower Power

As borrrrrinnnggg as it sounds, I've found lately that there is nothing quite as relaxing as painting your nails a pretty colour when you're really busy in REAL LIFE. These past few weeks have been a bit of a stress fest and I feel like I've had hardly any time to myself. I've also never appreciated flowers before. So I acted like a proper GIRL and bought some sunflower's from Tesco and painted my little stumpy nails kind of the same colour as them. I didn't actually realise how long sunflowers lasted for, else I would have bought some a little sooner. These have been going strong for a good 9 days now and considering they're from Tesco - the place where a cucumber lasts about 3 days (yes, I do appreciate the longevity of a cucumber, FYI Waitrose you can keep one fresh in the fridge for a good 7 days, Aldi it's about 2 before it goes a bit meh) I'm surprised how long they have stayed looking fresh.

Using the 3 Concept Eyes (3CE) nail varnish I picked up from the charity shop and the essence nail art topper in '101 dalmations' I've channeled the sunshiney goodness of the sunflowers to have a little glance at when I'm around people for too long and they start to get on my nerves a bit. But we will see how long it takes before the people and life stress me out that much I end up peeling them off. Ho-hooooo.

On a more positive note, I have gone and landed myself a new job which I start in about 2 weeks. I really like my job at the moment but it's time for me to move on and take on a new challenge, yipee! It's also about 20 minutes less to drive to and from as well, so more time for me, to sit alone, with my cat. This will hopefully mean I have more time to blog a bit more too, as I know I've been lacking a little lately, and it's feeling a bit like beauty themed posts are taking over again - which is something I really wanted to dilute down this year. Guh!

    1. Thank you! I actually didn't realise how sunflowery they were until they'd dried either. Subliminal sunflower skills!

  3. Surprised the sunflowers last so long . . good to know! You should try the Essence varnish on top of white or black nail varnish, might look like dalmation nails! :D
