MyBag is basically the online equivalent of a bag lovers idea of heaven. With a range of designer handbags, quirky totes and spectacular sunglasses, you can pretty much find any bag you’ve been drooling after in one place. From the latest Lulu Guinness, to the practical preppy stylings of Cambridge Satchels – there’s a whole range of bags, sunglasses and accessories to lust over.
On Monday, I was kindly invited to their AW15 preview event by the super stylish Angharad and the endlessly talented Clare (Oh, shush, you make out like I’m complimenting them because I work with them or something). The evening was based at Artisan in Manchester, which I must say was the ideal venue for the bags they had on display! Artisan is a beautiful, rustic yet modern location which somehow made me think of apothecaries?! I think this was the dark wood detailing everywhere though, which was offset with vintage books and even the odd bit of taxidermy thrown in. My fave.
Of course, the colour scheme for an Autumn Winter range was the deep, dark tones of oxblood reds, rich chocolate browns and classic blacks. All ticking my boxes time after time. There were a few backpack style bags, which I am obsessed with recently after discovering a new found love for the convenience of a backpack (which is particularly handy when I take my baby niece on adventures, as you need all hands free!)
I always love blogger events, especially when I go alone. Despite being the most awkward human in existence by lowering the tone of any conversation, I always find that you need to channel a false confidence to get chatting to the bloggers in attendance who you haven’t met before! Is it weird that I kind of miss my first endeavours in to blogger events when I’d *have* to go alone and be forced to chat to people!? Not saying that I don’t love going to events with the regular favourites by the way! After panicking about car parking, I did manage to settle in and got chatting to a few people, whilst also perusing the handbag layout. Unfortunately I did miss the nibbles though!
Despite being a weekday, after work event (I always love just going home and having a good sit on weekdays), I found that the 2 hour event just flew by! I think 2 hours is pretty much the optimum time frame for blogger events, as you can do what you need to do and still have time for a casual chat! Don’t you agree? With the light nights now with us as well, I found it such a relaxing evening and I even made it home before it was dark! I’ll be getting use to this weekday socialising thing in no time at this rate. Especially if it involves amazing venues, lovely bags and chatty bloggers every time!
