Music Blog: Now Playing June 2018

music blog

How the flinging flaps is it half way through JUNE already?

If you think 2018 is a shit year don’t worry. The rate it’s going it’ll be over and done with before you can blink.

June is actually the month that Festival Season properly kicks off in my calendar. Not only that but I also got to see Ed Sheeran at Wembley this weekend, which was actually pretty bloody good.

I don’t know why I was so surprised when it was just him though?

Casually playing to 72,000 people.

Bloody hell.

As well as that, I’ve been to Download Festival and Stone Free Festival in the last two weeks and I’m off to see Queens of the Stone Age at Finsbury Park in a few weeks.

So much musics, man. Can my liver cope?

Anyway, here’s what I’m listening to in June….

After seeing The Hives again at Download Festival, I’ve had them on repeat. They’re just so bloody fun aren’t they?

I remember first hearing this song on a VHS tape free with Kerrang! magazine.

Released in 2000 (a whole 18yrs ago, woah) it still makes me dance.

They’re also at that Queens of the Stones Age Finsbury park gig. I cannot wait.

Which leads me on to my next one….

Remember Be Your Own Pet? The singer that did this pretty good song with Iggy Pop  – who also just so happens to be at the Finsbury Park gig.

How is this related to The Hives? Well, those guys friggin’ love Iggy Pop. I’ve got high hopes for them taking the stage together.

Another band I’ve not stopped listening to since Download is L7. Mainly because I had a killer headache on Saturday when they were on and slept through their set.

Anyway, if someone has pissed you off today, listen to this and feel better about life….

And finally, I can’t complete my music blog for June without a little bit of Ed.

I’ve honestly, never seen so many people lose their shit with happiness than I did at Wembley this weekend. It was really quite something.

So many people dancing and in their element. It was like one of those really staged Pepsi adverts or something where everyone is having ‘festival fun’ BUT IT WAS REAL.

Well done Eddy boy.
