Gifted: Kitchen Gadgets

Gifted! Idea’s for Christmas 2013 – The Kitchen Gadget Edition.

Following on from those quirky little gifts to get your dad/brother/bloke last week, this time we have the Kitchen Gadget edition! I’m really quite excited about getting my mitts on some new kitchen things. Since I moved I don’t even have a toaster, but I do have a super duper tiny worktop cooker which my mum gave me, it’s awesome for quickly knocking out some bacon without turning my actual cooker on! One thing I’ve wanted for years and years is a coffee machine, every Christmas I ask for one, but no one bothers to, wahhhh. I love my coffee, I’m a bit like the female Stoke version of Agent Dale Cooper from Twin Peaks but without the sinister storyline. Cafetiere’s are good at first but I hate washing them!! Yes, I am that lazy. Caffeine makes me feel nice but doesn’t give me energy to actually do things. Whoops. Anyway, finally I’m getting to try out one of these fancy Tassimo coffee machines from Argos. I’ve only just got it but excited to see how it goes. At first I was a bit wary about how much the drinks cost, but when you work out how much a bloody Pumpkin Spiced Latte costs a throw, an at home coffee machine is much more efficient. And oh my, they even do a Chai Latte Lemongrass flavour?!?!! I love a good chai latte!

Second on my gift guide for kitchen gadgets is the AWESOME Tefal Egg and Toast toaster, I’m sure I mention this every year? Last year I got one for my mum and dad and they love it. You can cook beans, eggs, warm up sausages, oh and actually make toast in it. I used to have one myself but was over zealous pushing the mechanism down and broke it 🙁 but I’m hoping someone will be kind enough to get me a replacement one (one day). They’re really convenient as you literally pop the egg in the side bit and it cooks whilst your bread is toasting. They also cost a few quid shy of £30 which I think is brilliant, probably a good gift for an anti social student who likes hiding in their room instead of venturing in to the shared kitchen too, haha! If you’re a little more strapped for cash you could go for the smaller kinds of kitchen/foody gifts like a cute little Matryoshka Timer from IWOOT (although you wouldn’t be needing that to time your eggs if you get that toaster!) or a Zoku Slushy Maker which is something I would have loved this summer, because I don’t have a freezer and it makes the cold slushy IN the cup! This post makes me sound like my kitchen is pretty empty doesn’t it? But don’t worry, I do have a great collection of fancy mugs and cups to make up for my lack of current gadgets.

We have a coffee machine stuck away in a cupboard but I can never be bothered to use it!

Haha, that's what I fear for mine, I hope that doesn't happen though!

Barry uses our Tassimo everyday. He takes a Costa Americano in a takeaway cup (From Makro) for the drive to work . £4.29 for 16 cups of coffee is a bargain 🙂 x

Omg! you've just found me the perfect gift for my brother! I'm sure he'll be an antisocial student who loves his eggs beans and toast cooker!
