Part of being a blogger is getting brilliant opportunities, such as reviewing products and being invited to exclusive events to preview or celebrate brands and companies. Sometimes it’s amazing the amount of things you get the privilege to be a part of. Sometimes though, it doesn’t all go to plan. You know how it is, a wave of invites has been distributed throughout the inboxes of the blogger world; everyone is hyped up, psyched up, ready for wilin’ over the latest exclusive event… But wait, your invite got lost, it must have gone in to the spam folder surely?! They couldn’t have missed you off their PR list? I mean, you’re a loyal follower of the brand, you’ve mentioned them in tweets so many times, not only their consumer account but ALSO their dedicated PR account too….! For Christ’s sake, man! It’s like they didn’t get the hint. Alas, the event date comes, but your invite still doesn’t…. Slowly but surely you go through the stages, demonstrated below in ‘2 Broke Girls’ .gif style:
First you’re all like, whatevs, I don’t care, I’m gonna show my anger all over my Twitter feed, I have no loyalty to those guys any more:
But then you realise you might be acting a little bit irrational, I mean, it’s only a crappy event right? You only wanted to go for the canapés and cupcakes anyway:
And not to mention once you’ve seen one instagram picture of the latest lipstick they all just look the same:
Yeah you’re not actually that bothered… Other bloggers who attended probably just think you’re jealous. Pfffft, you’re totes not:
Because they clearly didn’t invite you there because they couldn’t handle your awesome:
But then the company notices your tweets and they agree you’re actually awesome too and you deserve to try the new products launched at the event and send you some:
And in case you need a disclaimer! Once again this post is in jest, just like the previous one which you can have a gander at here
, which celebrates the various stages of a blog based Twitter chat. I love going to events and meeting bloggers. I also love cupcakes, canapés, make up and cocktails. So there ya go.
