Boring blog post alert!! I’ve been so swamped lately that I haven’t been able to even nip in to Poundland or Home Bargains to get any little mid week bargain treats. This is not like me at all. Usually on Thursday’s (which is late night shopping in Stoke on Trent) I will go to Freeport or into Hanley and get a little mid week pick me up. But this hasn’t happened for weeks now! Yesterday I went to Hanley with Victoria with no intention to buy anything, apart from an iPad mini case (which are ridiculously hard to find in a cute and practical style it seems!) but ended up succumbing to the joys of Primark instead. I did that thing where you pick loads of stuff up on the way round then panic ditched them at the checkout. But these little purchases survived the cut….
First things first, the oh-so-beautiful iPad mini case I did end up buying was really pointless and is going back. It looked so promising in the box, but then when I got it home the ‘stand’ doesn’t even make the iPad stand up! It’s so flimsy and rubbish. So if you’re going to Tesco and are after an iPad case you should probably avoid the ones in their Christmas gift section. Because I guess they will all be like this. So I’m still on the look out for an actual functioning and pretty iPad case! I really like the ones with the keyboards on so might pick one up from eBay…. Anyhoo, I digress, let’s get back to the things I will actually keep.
First up this beautifully soft fleece throw. It only cost a fiver, and with the cold nights getting even colder I thought it would be great to just put under my quilt in bed. It’s got the cutest woodland foxy print on it and feels sooooo super soft. It does seem to malt a little bit like the cat does in the peak of summer, but you know. It’s Primark. And it cost £5. It’s probably the size of a single bed? I don’t know, if I spread it across my double bed it leaves a bit of a gap around the edges.
Secondly the bee purses, THE. BEE. PURSE. I love love love bee’s and insects and anything with a bug on it. This cost £5 as well, and I don’t exactly need a new purse but it was just so wonderful. I will probably use it for nights out as a clutch bag to be honest as it is a little larger than a normal purse and will probably be enough room for my purse and even my keys actually. The quality of the finish also feels like it’s worth more than £5 too. It’s a lovely soft faux leather finish and has plenty of zips and compartments inside.
And finally, since Miley Cyrus was on the X Factor in that turban I kinda needed one in my life. The closest I will go at this stage though is this little knitted headband from the kids section. For £1.50 it will do to keep my head warm and avoid hat hair, which is an endless problem , especially when you have extensions in all the time (not to mention makes your head really itchy). Because it’s knitted there is a bit of stretch in it, so if you’re worried your head isn’t quite child size it might still fit.
Have you picked up anything wonderful lately?
