I thought I’d curbed my obsession with Orla Kiely goodness over the last few months. I had actually avoided going in to Clarks
, because I’d seen so many Instagram
pictures of the last shoe collection, I knew I wouldn’t be able to resist if I saw them in the flesh.
Alas, I waited and waited and waited…
Then the Clarks shoe sale happened and I managed to get these beautiful Orla Kiely Dilly
shoes for half their original price.
After falling in love with the Orla Kiely Milly
shoes last year, they are still too precious to wear as much as I should. I’m just so scared I’ll ruin them. I think it’s because they’re a lighter colour than shoes I usually wear, so it has to be *just* the right weather to crack them out. I had been eyeing up the Dotty Mary Jane style from the AW14 collection, which I’d seen over on A Million Dresses
blog, but they were nowhere to be found in store. I think it was fate though, as I will get more wear out of the Dilly shoes because they’re just a bit more versatile being a solid burgundy colour and plainer style. They’re a stroke-able ponyhair leather (which thanks to Twitter
, I’ve found out is just cow leather and not in fact real horses, duh), with contrasting smooth leather detail. I love the big chunky buckle on the side too. They are also super comfortable thanks to them having cushioned Clarks Plus insole, which means you can wear them all day long and look subtly sassy on a daily basis.
The only downside of these shoes, is that wearing them will ruin the pretty leaf pattern on the sole. And that makes me a little sad inside.
