Luck Lust Liquor & Burn in Manchester
is one of those places I’ve seen cropping up on Twitter and Social Media, but never actually knew where it was. The other weekend we were on a mission to make it to Almost Famous
for a delicious burger before the lunch time rush, only to end up in the location where it used to be and accidentally stumbling in to Luck Lust Liquor & Burn, which is now where we thought Almost Famous was! Well, it was where Almost Famous was when we’ve been before, but it seems that this location was just temporary when they had a fire that time.
I’m going to assume that Luck Lust Liquor & Burn is owned by the same people as Almost Famous, as the tell tale sign for me is the fries. The one thing I wasn’t keen on in Almost Famous was how over seasoned the fries seemed to be. When they come loaded with all kinds of delicious condiments and sauces, there’s no need to add extra salt and flavourings too. This is personal taste mind, but it kind of makes them not as delicious as they would be with out the added shake of seasoning. But who am I kidding? I still wolfed them motherfudgers down like it was going out of fashion. The Barrio fries come fully loaded with peppers, onions, taco sauce, guacamole and chipotle sour cream. I loved the tang of the taco sauce against the cool guacamole and kick of the chipotle. Dream combination right there.
For my burger I went for the Liquor & Burn Burger, as I’d not been before I thought I’d go for their namesake option because in theory that’d gotta be one of the best things on the menu right? And right I was. This precious bun came packed with double cheeseburger, dirty chicken, chorizo, peppers and onions, hot sauce and once again, chipotle sour cream. The one thing I keep thinking about from this burger is the little cubes of chorizo, they were so crispy and delicious, my mouth is literally watering thinking about it. Of course, you had to eat it with a knife and fork, unless you wanted to recreate a scene similar to a dog trying to eat beetroot or something, but it this ensured that each delicious bite had a bit of everything in.
Next time I go, I’ll just request that my fries come unseasoned underneath the piles of delicious goo, as it got a bit much in the end, but despite that I still really enjoyed the fresh flavours and combinations of tastes and textures.
