Christmas bloody party season. I’ve never been a big fan of it if I’m completely honest. But that’s probably down to the Christmas parties I’ve been to in the past consisting of bored housewives copping off with the fishmonger (retail, yo!). It was always nice to attend and remain sober so you could watch all the magic happen and remember the gossip for Monday morning, but they’ve never been much… fun. I’m sure this year will be very different though, as it’s the first Christmas party I’ll be going to at my work place at the moment. The summer party was pretty snazzy with a free bar, hog roast and more lols than you could shake a stick at, so I’ve no doubt it’ll be equally as good for Christmas.
In the season of PARTY, it’s only right that you throw some sequins in to the mix, isn’t it? And you can’t go wrong with a simple sequin dress like this Motel dress from ARK.
A few weeks ago I was invited to the ARK #YuleBelieve event, but I couldn’t make it because I had the worst headache in the history of the world ever that day (typical). I was pretty gutted as there was a Secret Santa surprise on the night, but mine got sent to me afterwards and it was this beautiful blue sequin dress – perfect for the Christmas Party!
Teamed with this uh-mazin’ holographic clutch from LYDC bags you’re pretty much a walking, talking (read: dancing, drinking) disco ball. It also goes well with this velvet choker necklace I picked up from H&M a few months ago. Y’know, to bring a bit of gothy edge to the party. For make up I’m gonna keep it pretty simple. Christmas calls for red nails and I got my paws on this Bourjois one as a free gift with purchase the other day when I got my Air Mat foundation.
YSL Black Opium has been my daily scent since I got it. But I’m going a bit cold-turkey at the moment as I know this bottle certainly won’t last forever. I’m saving it for special occasions and I think Christmas can count as being a bit special, with that whole Santa thing etc. So I’ll be cracking this black bottle of dreams out on every occasion I can, but trying to resist wearing it daily to work like I have been doing!
