Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
When it comes to foundations I’ve tried every type to suit every budget. From more affordable high street brands, to higher end options, with all kinds of finishes in between. Gone are the days of my youth where I’d use not only a full coverage liquid foundation, but a powder foundation on top (insert shock, horror emoji).
After venturing in to the world of beauty blogging, it’s fair to say I have refined my ways somewhat. I used to have terrible skin and an even more terrible skincare routine. That, on top of the aforementioned foundation faux pas, meant that my complexion was still akin to a 15year old hormonal teenager well in to my 20’s.
Years of trial and error have bought me to some conclusions over what works for me and what doesn’t. I now know to avoid foundations with silicone higher up on the ingredients list, as this tends to dry out my skin and block my pores, causing more spots. Instead I opt for foundations with water and glycerin higher up, as these seem to work the best for me. I usually go for a satin finish, or a matte foundation if I need a longer lasting look.
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation appears to tick all the boxes for what I’d look for in a foundation nowadays. It’s lightweight, meaning that you can build up the coverage to suit your needs and the colour range is impressive. With 21 shades to choose from, you are certain to find your ideal match with no trouble.
Being a little paler I have gone for shade number 4 and this appears to suit my skin perfectly. With a slightly pink undertone, this is definitely a shade for the lighter skin tones amongst us. The finish is lasting all day when I use my favourite Monu Primer, which adds an even more luminous and healthy dew to the finish.
Do you opt for high end or budget foundations when you’re beauty shopping? What ingredients to you avoid and look for?
