New In: Rimmel The Only 1 Matte Lipstick

Firstly, An Ode to Lipstick…

I am a complete sucker for lipsticks. They’re kind of like that bi-weekly treat that is cheap to buy, but can make you feel a million bucks with one slick. There are many sayings and faux-quotes flying around Instagram which involve taking on the world and feeling more confident when you put on your favourite bold lipstick; and you know what? It’s probably true. If you wake up in the morning feeling like you can’t do something, or your confidence is low, it’s amazing how good putting on your favourite go-to lip colour can make you feel. Shallow? A little bit, yes. But there’s a lot to be said for a £5 stick of colour isn’t there?

Then In Steps the New  Rimmel The Only 1 Matte Lipstick

I honestly thought that the Rimmel ‘The One’ Lipsticks were the best high street lipstick a girl could bag. For those not familiar with them, they’re beautiful sticks of hydrating, full colour, that literally lasts all day. The formulas themselves have a satin, non-drying finish and they come in a great range of shades. I wear the shade ‘It’s a Keeper’ daily, as it’s the perfect slighty-shiny nude.

Then, the Rimmel Only 1 Matte Lipsticks landed on my doorstep…

As soon as I opened the envelope I was already sold. The shade range immediately ticked the boxes when it came to making sure they had something for every taste. With ‘Run The Show’ being a vivid matte purple, through to ‘Salute’ and it’s your lips but better hue, Rimmel has ensured that they’ve got each colour covered, without overwhelming with choice.

With effortless full coverage, these matte finish lipsticks not only pack a powerful punch in the pigment stakes, but also appear to stain your lips for hours after wear. Using the bolder shade of ‘Look Who’s Talking’ I found that I could literally apply in the morning and leave it until around 3pm before I’d even have to consider topping up.

If you’re a fan of matte lipsticks then these may just be the new addition to your #LipLibrary that you’re craving. However, take note; due to the bullet, cream formula you may find the lipstick drags ever so slightly. If this is the case just pop out your best lip brush and use that instead. Easy.

And in case that didn’t convince you….
