When it comes to perfumes I am definitely a creature of habit.
YSL Black Opium, Dior Poison Girl, Dior Hypnotic Poison…. They’re all kind of similar. But to me, unique in their own rights.
However, these perfumes aren’t really very ‘summer’ and when I got sent the Accessorize Happy Daisy perfume, at first I was a little unsure….
“The fruity scent opens with fresh notes of raspberry and orange, moving into heart notes of green notes, pepper, violet, cyclamen and jasmine. It finishes with base notes of caramel vanilla, delicate musk, orris and sandalwood.”
Raspberry and orange? Nah.
Pepper and Violet? You’ve got my attention.
Vanilla and Sandalwood? Okay, I’m in.
With such an eclectic range of smelling notes, it was hard to gauge what this was going to be like on paper.
Upon first spritz, it was definitely fresher than my usual aroma choices. Crisp and sharp and not immediately my cup of tea.
When it settles though, the richness of the vanilla comes out and the creamy caramel compliments the musky sandalwood scents.
I’ve been wearing it most days whilst we’ve been having this warm weather.
For around £12.99 its a good alternative to Marc Jacobs Daisy, that has similar base notes of musk and vanilla. Worth a sniff if you’re after a new, affordable scent for daily wear.
